Hey there, video game people! We’re Reverting Castles, and we want to share our game project with you!

Just a little bit about us: We’re longtime friends, video game industry veterans, and martial arts enthusiasts. We love the rush of a good fight, whether it’s in a video game, a martial arts movie, or real-life training and competition. Between us, we have decades of experience shipping games, about a hundred years of martial arts and combat sports, and more time than we can (or probably should!) calculate playing fighting games and beat-em-ups. We’re into physics-defying air combos and juggles. We love the feeling of a perfectly-timed parry. We appreciate the authentic technique and real training that hides behind flashy choreography. And now, we want to share these experiences with you!

So, let’s get to the game: Demon Crush! Demon Crush is about, in a word, adrenaline. Take on armored warriors, ferocious beasts, deadly assassins, and otherworldly demons with a variety of weapons and skills at your disposal. Stand-alone against hordes of enemies, or in pitched battles alongside the villagers, warrior monks, and soldiers of this world. Demon Crush delivers button-mashing fun, but genre veterans will find hidden complexity to master within its fast-paced combat. Battles are highly kinetic, wild dances of death where every move counts and every action has a consequence.

In future posts, we’ll discuss some of the mechanics of our combat system, major characters and story elements in our game world, and the games, movies, and martial arts styles that inspired us. We’ll also discuss some of our aesthetic and storytelling choices, and even some of our development process. We want to hear what you think about Demon Crush and your favorite martial arts action games, too, so let us know what you think in the comments!
